I?d Rather Be Wealthy And Quiet Than Famous And Broke -----Banky W
Banky W was romantically associated with Andrea Manuela Giaccaglia some months back, but he has said recently that he is not in any relationship at the moment, the EME boss claims that the entertainment business is too much hype and projects fame than famous, if there is one thing he does not want to be caught with, it is being famous and broke.
Banky W took the 10th position of the Forbes and he is not excited about that, ‘I don’t believe very much in such things. Let’s be honest, the real wealthy people are the businessmen like Dangote and the politicians (some of whomgot there by looting Nigeria). They’re the ones with real money. This entertainment business is too much hype. It is more fame than fortune. So I’m not thrilled to it and I don’t think any of us should buy into it too much. I’d rather be wealthy and quiet than famous and broke’
He does something most people do not known, ‘I’m not sure how many people know this, but I shave my head and shape my beard myself. I’m my own barber. I’ve been doing it for years. It started when I was in University and didn’t have a lot of money, I learnt to maintain it myself so I didn’t need to spend money on it every week. And now I’m good at it so I’m my own barber. I will probably open a barbershop at some point.’

The
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) informed it would embark on
an indefinite strike from October, 4, 2013, Friday, to press home their
demands.
Mr.
Chibuzo Asomugha, the National Chairman of the Union, gave this
indication in a chat with P.M.NEWS in the morning of September 30, 2013,
Monday.
He
stated clearly that the lecturers had been asked to call off the
industrial action which they embarked upon early this year but the
Federal Government is yet to fulfill the promises made since then.
“We
are going on an indefinite strike starting from Friday, 4 October, to
remind the Federal Government of the promises they made when they asked
us to go back to the classrooms early this year.
“The
union believes that the government has failed us in that regard because
we trusted them but the conditions were not met,” ASUP chairman stated.
He
added that “for these reasons, we have instructed all our member
institutions to stay away from the classrooms starting from Friday as we
seek a permanent solution to the looming crisis in the education sector
of the country.
“We can’t be taken for a ride continuously and that’s why we want a permanent resolution to the promises which had been made.”
This recent development will come as a worry to students in the country as the ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, is nowhere near its end.

YOBE ATTACK: Death Toll Rises To 78 As More Details Of The Attack Are Revealed
The death toll at the College of Agriculure, Gujba,Yobe State has risen to 78.
At least 50 of them were students who were attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning as they slept in their hostel.
Some were shot, others were butchered with swords and knives. The gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram sect members later moved to houses around the hostel, killing residents they find. Then they blocked the Damaturu-Maiduguri road and killed travellers.
So far, 78 bodies have been counted, with many more people still unaccounted for. A student of the college who survived the massacre explained what happened...
"They started gathering students into groups outside, then they opened fire and killed one group and then moved onto the next group and killed them. It was so terrible. They came with guns around 1a.m. and went directly to the male hostel and opened fire on them. The college is in the bush, so the other students were running around helplessly as guns went off and some of them were shot down.”The gunmen stormed the hostels in two double-cabin pickup all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles, and were dressed in military camouflage. They attacked 4 male hostels but avoided the only hostel reserved for girls. Swords and knives were used to kill at least 30 male students.
Some corpses that were found were without heads while others had heads hanging to the bodies. Wailing parents and relatives were at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital mortuary in Damaturu this morning to identify their loved ones. This can't continue. This government has to do something about the situation

SUAREZ BRACE INSPIRES LIVERPOOL WIN
Troubled Uruguay striker marks return to Premier League action with two goals as Liverpool beat managerless Sunderland.
Luis Suarez crowned his English Premier League
return with a brace as Liverpool won 3-1 at bottom club Sunderland on
Sunday to climb to second place in the table.
Having completed a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last season, Suarez scored in each half at the Stadium of Light as Liverpool ended a run of three games without victory.
Daniel Sturridge had given Liverpool the lead
with his fifth goal of the season, with Emanuele Giaccherini replying
for Sunderland early in the second half after Suarez had made it 2-0.
It was Sunderland's first league game since
the dismissal of manager Paolo Di Canio, but although they are now four
points from safety, interim coach Kevin Ball will have been heartened by
their second-half reaction.
Early threats
Both sides threatened from early set-pieces, Keiren Westwood denying Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and Sebastian Larsson rattling the visitors' bar, before the away side went ahead in contentious circumstances in the 28th minute.
A left-wing corner found Sturridge unmarked at the back post and although he shaped to head the ball, it actually struck his elbow before bouncing over the line.
Sunderland's defenders did not appeal, however, and eight minutes later Sturridge's teasing low cross from the right allowed Suarez to slide home his first goal since completing his suspension.
The Uruguayan celebrated by lifting his jersey to reveal a T-shirt bearing a picture of his family with his new-born son Benjamin, who was born on Thursday.
The hosts were quick to react though, and after former Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet had saved with his feet from Craig Gardner and Adam Johnson had shot narrowly over, they drew level in the 52nd minute.
Mignolet could only parry a low drive by Ki Sung-yueng and Giaccherini swept the loose ball home with his left foot to reduce the arrears.
There were chances for both teams, Mignolet denying Gardner again, while Westwood saved from Victor Moses and Kolo Toure, before Suarez tucked in his second goal from another Sturridge cross in the 89th minute.
Norwich win
Earlier, Norwich City won 1-0 against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium to register their second victory of the league season and only their second away win of 2013.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes has been praised for introducing a more possession-oriented approach since succeeding Tony Pulis in the close season, but his side produced a strangely subdued display.
Jonathan Howson claimed the game's only goal in the 34th minute with a low drive from 25 yards that dipped right in front of Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The two teams now have identical records after seven games of the season and sit three points above the relegation places.
"This is a tough place to come. We had really good spells where we dominated possession," said Norwich manager Chris Hughton.
"It's about picking up points and hopefully this will give us some confidence."
Hughes was aggrieved that Stoke were denied a penalty after Leroy Fer appeared to hold back Kenwyne Jones early in the second half.
"If the referee sees it, he will agree there is an infringement," said the Welshman.
"Kenwyne Jones was trying to get on the end of the ball; the letter of the law says it should be a penalty."
Arsenal moved two points clear at the top of the table following a 2-1 win at Swansea City on Saturday, while Manchester City lost 3-2 at Aston Villa and Manchester United were stunned 2-1 by West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford.
STUDENT MASSACRED IN NIGERIA ATTACK
Raid on college dormitory in Gujba in Yobe state is latest in a series of violent incidents blamed on Boko Haram.
As many as 50 students are reported to have died after armed men stormed a college dormitory in Nigeria's northeast, shooting at them as they slept, according to the Nigerian military.
Sunday's attack, believed to be carried out by the armed group Boko Haram, targeted the College of Agriculture in the town of Gujba in Yobe state, Lazarus Eli, the area military spokesman, said.
"There was an attack at the College of Agriculture in Gujba this morning by Boko Haram terrorists who went into the school and opened fire on students" while they were asleep, Eli said.
Boko Haram is a Nigerian armed group that claims to be fighting Western influence and wants to form an Islamic state.
The literal translation of Boko Haram is "Western education is forbidden".
Molima Idi Mato of the College of Agriculture told AP news agency that classrooms were torched in the attack, which occurred at about 1am local time.
"They attacked our students while they were sleeping in their hostels, they opened fire at them," he said.
He said security forces were still are recovering bodies of students mostly aged between 18 and 22.
The assailants rode into the college in two double-cabin pickup all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles, some dressed in Nigerian military camouflage uniforms, Ibrahim Mohammed, a surviving student, told the AP.
He said they appeared to know the layout of the college, attacking the four male hostels but avoiding the one hostel reserved for women.
"We ran into the bush, nobody is left in the school now," Mohammed said.
The college is about 40km from the scene of similar school attacks around Damaturu town.
Northeastern Nigeria is under a military state of emergency to battle Boko Haram fighters who have killed more than 1,700 people since 2010 in their quest to install an Islamic state.
Half the country's 160 million citizens are Christian.
Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris, reporting from Abuja, said that after the country's president declared a state of emergency in May, the military launched a crackdown on armed groups and the situation seemed to have calmed down in the north.
"Then all of a sudden, during the past three or four weeks, incidents started popping up all over the place. Since then, more than 300 people may have been killed by suspected members of Boko Haram," he said.

Drummer Lee Rigby murder trial: Suspects Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale deny Woolwich killing
Two men have denied murdering the soldier Lee Rigby in an attack outside his barracks and will go on trial in November at the Old Bailey.
Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, did not
attend the court in person but appeared via video link from separate
rooms at the top-security Belmarsh Prison. The pair both denied
murdering Drummer Rigby, whose widow Rebecca was in court for the
hearing, as he returned to the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich,
south-east London on 22 May this year.
Mr Adebolajo, who has asked to be called Mujahid Abu Hamza, and Mr Adebowale, who wants to be known as Ismail Ibn Abdullah, also both pleaded not guilty to attempted murder of a police officer on 22 May. They also denied conspiring to murder a police office on or before that date.
The soldier, who has a two-year-old son Jack, was returning to the barracks when he was attacked, and died from multiple cut and stab wounds. David Cameron and thousands of mourners attended the funeral of the 25-year-old from Middleton, Greater Manchester, in July.
Mr Adebolajo, from Romford in Essex, and Mr Adebowale, from Greenwich, south-east London, both wore red T-shirts and pale trousers for the hearing, while Mr Adebolajo’s arm was also in a brace.
Mr Justice Sweeney adjourned the case and set the trial date for 18 November.

Help Yobo hit 100 caps mark, Ladipo begs Keshi
By okharedia anslem
The clamour for the recall of Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo increased during the week with the President-General of the Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo adding his voice.
Dr. Ladipo who spoke in Lagos pleaded with the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi to reconsider dropping of Yobo from the team because of his contribution to the team in the past, adding that the captain may be used sparingly in matches.
Also speaking on the bonus issue that almost threatened to tear the team apart, Dr. Ladipo said that the intervention of the sports Minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi was in the right direction because, “nothing should distract the team from qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.”
“We just have two more matches to qualify and the issue of bonus should not cause problem for the team now. I thank the minister for coming to the rescue by promising to ensure they get the US$10,000 bonus they are demanding,”Dr. Ladipo said in Lagos.
On the hurdle posed by Ethiopia, the Supporters Club boss said, “The Ethiopians are good no doubt but I don’t see them stopping Nigeria. If we prepare well, the Eagles will go to Addis Ababa and defeat them there but it is not going to be easy.”
The first leg of the final qualifier has been fixed for October 13 by the Ethiopians who claim they play their matches on Sunday while the return leg is scheduled for the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar on November 16, 2013.
Some players of the team have expressed optimism in the team’s qualification but Elderson Echiejile, a defender has cautioned on the effect of the high altitude in Addis Ababa while coach Keshi said he expects a tough match from the Ethiopians.

One Direction aren’t going anywhere after signing a new multi-million pound deal with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.
And The X Factor boss is ‘delighted’ his money-making group will be under his wing for at least another few years.
A Syco spokesman confirmed: ‘Simon Cowell and One Direction are delighted to confirm they have agreed to continue their hugely successful relationship with a new long-term agreement with Syco.
‘Simon and the band look forward to many years of continued success together.’
As part of the deal, worth an estimated £10 million, Harry Styles, 19, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, all 20, and Louis Tomlinson, 21, are expected to churn out three more releases – two studio albums and a greatest hits collection.
The big-money contract will take effect after the release of their forthcoming third album, Midnight Memories, which hits shelves on November 25, and should see them through until 2016.
A source revealed: ‘This is a big deal for Simon and the lads.
‘It shows confidence that they have a long-term future and that a split or members going solo is highly unlikely. It will easily keep them busy until the end of 2015 and probably 2016 too.
‘The boys, Simon and their team have already started planning for their fourth album, even though the third isn’t out yet.
‘It’s worth a lot of cash too. They’ll get a big upfront payment worth millions then much more from record sales, tours, brand tie-ins and merchandise,’ the insider added some stories about the crew incase you don't know them, they re an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, consisting of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They signed with simon cowell's record label syco records after being formed and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition the x factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by the power of social media, One Direction's two albums up all night and take me home, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, broke several records, topped the charts of most major markets, and generated hit singles, which include "what make you beautiful" and "live while we re young".
Often described as forming part of a new "British Invasion" in the United States, the group have sold 19 million singles and 10 million albums, according to the band's management company, Modest! Management. Their achievements include two BRIT Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards.. According to Nick Gatfield, the chairman and chief executive of Sony Music Entertainment UK, One Direction represented a $50 million business empire by June 2012. They were proclaimed 2012's "Top New Artist" by Billboard. By April 2013, the band had an estimated personal combined wealth of £25m.

Photo: Ombatse cult members kill and bury two bankers in their car
A car with the remains of three men was dug out (pictured above) of a riverside bush in Obi LGA of Nasarawa State last weekend. The men have been identified as the Managing Director of Police
Microfinance Bank, Alhaji Hassan Gidado, the manager of the bank’s Abuja
branch, Mr. Tunde Banwo, and a company driver.
The men were killed by people suspected to be members of the Ombatse group, who allegedly ambushed them, took them to the bush, killed them in their car, set the car ablaze and buried them with their car in the bush. The incident happened at Tudun Adabu in Obi Local Government.
The victims were said to have gone to
Lafia from their base in Abuja to attend a wedding when they were sadly
attacked and brutally killed. Is this what we have turned to? Human
beings behaving like animals? No value for human life? Lord, help us!
